Introduction
Energy follows thought. Think about this. Everything around you was at some time a thought. The Goodwill Patterns are developed through meditation and action to bring about change not just in how we think but also how we create the world around us. My interest in the Goodwill Patterns is purely practical. These are the tools of the will-to-good, a blueprint for how to be in the world that works for me. It is a web, a set of related concepts and practices that I experience as having genuinely transformative power.
The Goodwill Patterns are derived from the text of the Beatitudes, by returning to the original Aramaic text and directly translating the words that were used by Christ. I absolutely love the irony, that having emphatically rejected the Roman Catholicism in which I was raised, and as someone proud to call myself a witch these last twenty years, I find myself sharing what I believe are the true teachings of the Sermon on the Mount. The Divine, however we understand it, has a sense of humour!
N.B. The pages that follow contain a number of meditations from different teachers. If you are doing these alone, then you need to find a way of recording them for yourself. Copy the text and then read it through several times before you begin recording and make sure that you leave long enough gaps between the sentences. We process information much more slowly when we are in an altered state and you need to take this into account when you are recording the meditations for yourself.
