I set up this website to share with other people the practices and understandings that lead to the flowering of great happiness in my life from seeds of sorrow. Having found such a path, it is natural to want to share it. Working with the Goodwill Patterns got me from there to here and I invite you all to have a read and see what you think and let me know! I'm the bard of Glastonbury now and am still astounded by how unexpectedly the Goddess grants her blessings. I knew at the beginning of this year - because it's a year of nine, which is a magical transformative number ? that I'd step into my power. What's funny is I'd forgotten all about that when I was writing a poem on the theme of 'nine Maidens' some five months later - and such is the magic 'The Power of Nine' is the poem that won the Gorsedd and gained me the prestige of 'chief bard of Ynys Witrin' or more informally 'the bard of Glastonbury'.
My life now is about letting myself connect with the greatest of all dreams; that we find our way to live more harmoniously on this earth. The plan of running the Council of All Beings derives from this and if this idea appeals to you please let me know as another council can happen given sufficient interest. I want to make my contribution to this transformation and as bard, I feel I've been given a voice, permission to speak. This is a year of turning - nine is the number of transformation. I?m very excited by the transitions town movement and the opportunity to participate in these important changes.
There are two strands interwoven in my work. One is working with the Goodwill Patterns. I'm writing a book about the power of these practices to empower us to be effective agents of changes in our own lives and in the world. They work on the principle that healing ourselves and healing our world are intrinsically linked. This autumn, I'm running the first four workshops based on the Goodwill Patterns material. The plan is to follow them up with the other four between Christmas and Easter. Each of these workshops is working with a different strand in the web and stands alone. Do the one that calls you. They all work.
And the second strand is creativity because in the celebration of our gifts lies true healing. And it is when we are healed that we can see for ourselves that what we do for the greater good brings us most happiness. The Odd Thursdays writing group I run is suspended for the summer as I'm working at various festivals. It's starting up again in the Autumn so if you find yourself in Glastonbury on an Odd Thursday (1st and 3rd of the month) call in and join us at 7 p.m. at the AshTat centre.
So I'll be running a workshop at the ESPfield Big Green Gathering 1st - 5th August. Being Peace - Rukha - finding our way home to peace when we get riled, promises to be more fun that it might sound - it's the true confessions that are entertaining.
